Universal Mental Health Services Employee Assistance Program

Universal Mental Health Services is committed to fostering a healthy and productive work environment. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides free, voluntary, and confidential short-term counseling services to all eligible employees.

The Employee Assistance Program is designed to support the overall well-being, mental health, and job performance of employees by providing confidential, professional assistance for personal and work-related concerns. Universal Mental Health Services offers this program to help employees navigate challenges such as emotional distress, family issues, substance use, and significant life transitions. Employees are encouraged to take advantage of this resource to maintain their personal health and workplace effectiveness.

Eligibility: All active full-time salaried employees and hourly employees who work 32.5 hours or more per week are eligible to access EAP services.

Services Provided: The EAP offers support for a variety of personal and professional concerns, including but not limited to:

· Stress, anxiety, and depression

· Family or relationship issues

· Substance use and addiction

· Workplace conflict

· Grief and loss

· Parenting and caregiving challenges

· Major life changes or transitions

· Referrals to community or private resources

· Guidance on work-life balance

Services May Include:

· Up to three (3) confidential counseling sessions per calendar year

· Crisis intervention and support

Confidentiality: All EAP interactions are strictly confidential. Information will not be shared with the employer without the employee's written consent, except as required by law (e.g., imminent risk of harm, court order). EAP participation will not be documented in the employee's personnel file.

How To Access Services: Employees may access EAP services at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.

Supervisor Referrals: Supervisors may recommend EAP services if an employee's personal concerns appear to be impacting job performance. Use of the EAP remains voluntary unless otherwise required under specific company policies (e.g., after a workplace incident).

Limitations: The EAP is not a replacement for long-term medical, psychiatric, or legal services. Program offerings may be limited in duration or scope, in accordance with the agreement between Universal Mental Health Services and the EAP provider.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Employees are responsible for initiating contact with Human Resources when assistance is needed.

· Supervisors and Managers should promote awareness of the EAP and recommend it as appropriate.

· Human Resources will maintain up-to-date information about the EAP and oversee communication and policy revisions.

Policy Disclaimer: Universal Mental Health Services reserves the right to modify or terminate this policy at its sole discretion. This policy does not alter the at-will employment status of any employee.

NOTE: EAP benefits are not transferable and may not be borrowed, shared, or used by

anyone other than the eligible employee.
